Product Overview

Fosika is a biological fungicidal formulation built on potassium phosphonates (phosphite ion), designed to strengthen plant defences and suppress fungal pathogens, particularly in woody crops and high-value fruit trees. Rather than directly killing pathogens, Fosika works by enhancing the plant’s own immune responses (induced resistance) and improving the health and vitality of treated tissues. Through sustained application, it supports balanced physiology, improves plant resilience under disease pressure, and complements integrated pest management (IPM) systems as a low-residue and environmentally compatible option. Especially in perennial crops, Fosika helps maintain long-term health and contributes to disease damping while preserving soil and plant balance.

Key benefits

  • Enhances plant immunity and reduces disease incidence
  • Supports better physiological balance in treated plants
  • Compatible with integrated pest management programmes
  • Low-residue and environmentally friendly
  • Helps maintain vigour under disease stress
  • Safe and easy to integrate into existing crop protection programmes

Active ingredient information

Potassium phosphonates are composed of potassium salts and are widely used to manage oomycete pathogens, such as Phytophtora and Pythium species. They act by supressing the pest's energy synthesis whilst also improving plant defence pathways. They also promote healthier tissues that are less favourable to disease development.
